Aims & Vision

At the Door Youth Project, we believe in the potential of every young person. Yes when we first meet them, they might be angry, rebellious and full of attitude, but over the months we see them change. Because when they let us down, we offer forgiveness and a chance to start again. Take Jack for example: excluded from school, in trouble with the police and generally regarded as a neighbourhood thug. After coming to the Door for the past 3 years, now he is one of the nicest young people you will ever have the pleasure to meet. He has got into college where he works hard and is constantly making positive contributions to society and community. At The Door, we say yes to young people who are always told no. We offer... - a safe place for young people to hang out off the streets - practical vocational training for young people no one else will train - opportunites to be developed and challenged through events, trips and activites - mentoring offering a positive role model and one to one personal support We include the exluded, the unloved, the vulnerable and help them turn their lives around.
